Banana Slug Beach is an open world voxel game where everything can be sculpted, even players. Your world evolves over time, reacting to player & bot actions. Play alone, or with friends-- build a world together and try to prevent its collapse!

Banana Slug Beach is made by Banana Slug Beach LLC which located in Colorado, USA and is an independent game developer

The game is made by one person(Niad), and has been in development for many years. Niad previosly worked at various game companies but grew very bored, left and hiked the PCT, CDT and various other trails in Utah, South America & New Zealand

Programming Language: C++ with lots of SIMD intrinsics
Game Engine: Custom engine based entirely on signed distance fields(SDF) for all geometry

Scale to wide range of hardware: geometry is generated at runtime, which means it can be generated based on what the machine can handle
Physics and gameplay operate on the underlying SDF, not on the generated geometry.
Build in World Editor: allows user to specify the rules used to generate the initial world, no limit on # of rules
Multiplayer: join player hosted servers, and build worlds together
Spatialized Audio: all audio is spatialized, so if you have headphones, you can tell where it is originating from
